Public Option Health Care/Insurance evils

Insurance companies make more money than God's best friend. Politicians are paid off by insurance companies to pass legislation through congress and keep their special interests protected. Remember Hillary Clinton during the presidential debates and what she was suggesting about mandatory health insurance? How in the world are people going to be able to pay for 'mandatory health insurance' when they cant even pay for non-mandatory insurance. Honestly folks, insurance rarely covers anything, you pay $5000-$10,000 a year for insurance and then you still have a deductible to pay on top of that. The reason the public option is not popular with many politicians is because it takes the insurance middle man out of the picture completely. If the insurance company loses it's position and leverage between you and the hospitals then they lose money, in turn the dirty politicians lose their pay offs from big pharma and the insurance conglomerate. Does this make sense yet? I don't understand why so many people do not see this or understand this. Public option is a great idea. I personaly know lots of good and hard working folks out there, including myself that have little if any health care. Even when I had insurance through work, and it cost me about $6000 a year, I still had to pay for my own asthma meds because they were not covered by the insurance company. Why have the insurance when it doesn't cover my only health problem? I have a better idea, I keep my half of that insurance cost in my paycheck and the employer can give me the half they are paying as an wage increase, especially since the benefits don't benefit me. I pay out of pocket for my meds anyway. Tons of people I have met across America drive to Mexico every year just to purchase the medicines they need. For some strange reason the drugs I need cost $30-$200 a month in America but in Tijuana the same drugs made by the same pharmaceutical companies cost that much for a whole years supply, maybe even two years supply. Mexico and Canada have great health care. I know people that live in these countries. They love it. The only place insurance companies belong is with home insurance or auto insurance. Then again look at Hurricane Katrina and the very, very, very few people that received anything at all from their coverage, or lack thereof.
